We present the winners of the Competition of the Best Online Practices in the Sphere of Citizenship Education: HrodnaYouthHub
Create your life’s work, help other people, make life in your city or town more interesting and comfortable, realize your ideas, learn about the coolest youth initiatives and projects. Such opportunities are offered by a new educational platform for young people created this spring in Hrodna (Belarus). In the competition for best online practices, this program won first place along with the Maidan Open University (Ukraine).
The HrodnaYouthHub program aims to increase the participation of young people through the development of civic and professional competencies, the implementation of youth initiatives and public awareness of the potential of young people and their needs.
Since April 2020, all educational events of the program have been held online.
Tandem Evenings in Hrodna are language integration meetings held as part of the program.
The participants of the meetings had the opportunity to speak different languages (English, Belarusian, Italian, German, Polish), share their knowledge and experience, meet with residents of foreign countries and people who are interested in developing and getting to know other cultures.
The topics of the meetings were the culture and cuisine of different countries, cinema and travel, volunteering and social activism.
Also, in an online format, he took a course on the development of entrepreneurial initiatives YOUthCAN.
Participants were able to develop the competencies necessary for finding a good job, starting their own business or an interesting creative project.
At the Discussion Club`s meetings, participants talk about the needs of people with disabilities and the challenges they face, about inclusion and how it can be achieved in practice.
Hrodna Celebrity Talk – meetings with interesting artists, musicians, directors, public figures. Hrodna Celebrity Talk – discussions about the role of young people in society, their needs and dreams, finding their place in this life, self-realization.
The Greenhouse of Youth Initiatives (a course on the development of public benefit projects) and the Summer School of Journalism and Media Literacy were held in an offline format, but with online components (trainings, webinars with foreign practices).
The Inclusive School “Step Towards”, the HrodnaIdeaLab (an open town workshop for generating and developing ideas for youth projects), the YOUthCan: Hrodna Festival, and a competition to support youth initiatives will be held within the framework of the HrodnaYouthHub program.
The HrodnaYouthHub program is run by EENCE members Institution for Additional Adult Education “Practical Competences Studio” and NGO “Center “Third Sector”, as well as the Web portal Hrodna.Life, the Volunteer Group “Step Towards” in partnership with the international non-profit organization Pact with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
